Piko: Creating the Best Story by Developing the Best
Storytellers
Piko is a collaborative community dedicated to the creation
of great stories. Members of our community - mainly screenwriters,
but also directors, producers, editors, and actors, storytellers all - have
committed their lives to becoming better at their particular means of telling a
great story. Piko is a place where people who love story will connect and
collaborate with other storytellers. Since all filmed stories begin with the
script, this is our chosen focus. Therefore, our primary objective is to train
screenwriters to become the best, most professional and competitive
screenwriters in the business.
If you desire to become a better screenwriter; if you have
the will to work very hard in order to improve your abilities; if you love
story and hope to one day make a living telling stories, check out what we have
to offer. The center of our work is the Piko Fellowship, a long term
residential training program for screenwriters. We also train and connect
writers in a variety of other ways.
Over the years we have discovered many ways to help writers
progress towards their goals. While there is no one way for every writer, there
are a collection of best practices we have found to be effective. The way we
create stories is unique and our work has drawn the interest of producers,
publishers, filmmakers, journalists, educators, foundations, and other artists.
But our work is still young. We continue to experiment, play with new ideas,
and openly hear the wisdom others share.
Like all not-for-profit organizations, we have needs. While
our basic financial needs have been provided for and we have a great network of
gifted screenwriters, we have one great need. Please let us know if you
can help. Furthermore, members of our community have created some excellent
stories. Contact us if you desire to learn more about our members and
the stories and projects they have developed.
Intrigued? Inspired? Read on.
